Amsterdam Cleans Day
Amper bijgekomen van SAIL staan we alweer klaar voor het volgende event: de grote Amsterdam Cleans Day op 19 september van 15:00 – 18:00!
Omdat vele Amsterdammers zich dagelijks ergeren aan al het afval in de stad, hebben mensen van diverse Amsterdamse ondernemingen: Victor Knaap (Media Monks), Charlie MacGregor (The Social Hub) en Daan van Apeldoorn (B Lab), samen met Brigitte Vonck (Serve the City Amsterdam), Cora Kreikamp (BIZ The Knowledge Mile) & Yanicke Agnes (Project Lead) de handen ineen geslagen om een dag te organiseren waarop we met zijn allen Amsterdam eens een flinke schoonmaakbeurt geven. Daar kunnen wij met onze bootjes natuurlijk niet ontbreken!

“What if the weather isn’t nice ?!?”
This is a question we get a lot from you guys. The funny thing is: people have as much fun (or maybe even more) in the rain as they do in sunny weather! In fact, it turns out that people bond more because the circumstances are more challenging, and to experience this together, and put an effort in making it through the day makes people connect more with each other.
Once upon a time a BBQ caterer told me he experiences exactly the same phenomenon. He said: “You wouldn’t believe it, but the BBQ’s I host in the rain are the most fun and cosy ones!”
So whatever the forecast brings, we’ll go plastic fishing anyway! 💪🏼 Who’s brave enough to join?!?

We collect
We collect as much plastic waste with as many people as possible. We started in the Netherlands but we aim to involve people across the globe.

We create economic value from plastic waste. We currently make boats and office furniture. The more we create, the more raw materials we need, the more positive impact we make.
We educate
With our school program we reach thousands of young people in NL and internationally. With presentations and workshops we reach and inspire companies and individuals to get involved with our mission.

At Plastic Whale we don’t like talking about the problem too much. We rather work on the solution! By creating cool products from plastic waste, involving as many people as possible. The more people join, the more positive impact we create. We started in Amsterdam, but we want to go global.
